EFFE

Walter Furlan would begin making glass at a very early age, working with some of the best master craftsmen of the 50s and 60s. He himself would soon become recognised as “prime master of the glass lamp”, and it was in this area of production that his company EFFE, founded in 1982, specialised. Soon, however, Furlan would feel the need to pursue his passionate interest in glass sculpture, working together with Angelo Seguso and the designer Mario Pinsoni and specialising in the Murano technique of vetro sommerso amd other types of stylised glass. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts under Fabrizio Plessi, his son, Mario, would become an active part of company, contributing to its vast range of sculptures in solid glass.
