This was founded in the 1970s by Giovanni Cendedese (born1944). Thanks to his great experience in the design and manufacture of glass, the company quickly established itself for the quality of its light fittings and sculptural objects. In works that were often produced to commission, pure and brilliant colours were combined with great technical ability and an openness to experimentation. Giovanni’s son, Simone (born 1973), entered the factory when very young and is now one of the recognised masters of Murano glassmaking. Forceful and yet also open to outside inspiration, Simone loves challenges and uses glass to produce the most surprising objects (from clothes to beds, and even installations of monumental size). In each of his works, however, he focuses on fluid form and bright, liquid colours. Many artists and designers have been attracted by the chance to work with someone of such artistic sensitivity, a craftsman who combines a sharp eye for form and proportion with the relentless pursuit of technical perfection.
